Response by Rick Thigpen

Today, none of seven dwarfs appears to be in the same league as Senator Jon Corzine. A primary election victory may change that. Can any of the Republican contestants capitalize on the voters’ clearly expressed dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in Trenton? I expect that the winner will be the Republican who can best tap into suburban anger about property taxes and “certain types of government spending.” Can the Republicans win in November as the voice of suburban resentment, or will they have more to offer? They all may look like losers now, but one of them has to win the Republican primary.
