Republican Response

While Governor Corzine's job approval and favorable/unfavorable remain solid, other performance indicators should raise some concern.  His collapsed job rating is upside down at 44%-54% and is an extremely weak 34%-63% among Independents.  In addition, the right track/wrong track numbers remain poor at 38%-49% overall, and a very worrisome 29%-56% among Independents.  The Carla Katz controversy hasn't penetrated yet, but those who know what's going on don't like what they see.

None of the above is likely to have much impact on this year's legislative races, but I would not want to be carrying some of these numbers into a re-election campaign in a couple of years
