Republican Response

This is, unquestionably, a tough political environment for Republicans this fall. At the end of the day, however, voters decide between two candidates on the ballot, neither of whom is George Bush. Democrat candidates must answer one question: What will I do differently in Iraq? Overwhelmingly, these candidates are basically saying the same thing: The U.S. should withdraw immediately. This is also known as the "cut and run" strategy. While voters are not happy with the way things are going in Iraq, they also understand that the United States is engaged in a historic struggle that we must win. Unfortunately, too many Democrats are offering a strategy that guarantees disaster rather than one that guarantees victory.
