The public is reacting
to this as yet another corruption issue that hurts the image of the
state. This is not a gay rights issue. Democrats, who are the target
of these intense corruption charges, and have the most to lose if a
special election is held, are essentially saying to the New Jersey public,
“we know we have a track record of corruption but trust us to
fix it.” see
