Response by Rick Thigpen

One can only hope that George Bush will come to New Jersey to campaign for Doug Forrester. How about this theme: "Doug Forrester will do for New Jersey what George Bush has done for America!"

As more and more New Jerseyans reach their own conclusions about the poor performance of the Bush administration, the silence is deafening from the Forrester campaign. Like Bush, Forrester is offering tax cuts that favor the wealthy, without any plan to pay for them. Forrester has yet to muster the courage to criticize the President or even to distinguish himself from the President's policies in any meaningful fashion. As the President's slide in New Jersey worsens, there is no end in sight to his troubles. The National Republican party seems determined to make New Jersey a blue state forever. I appreciate the best efforts of the Bush administration to make New Jersey a blue state forever. I regret the price our country and our great state have to pay for his governance.
