Republican Response

(PM note: Michael Torpey has endorsed John McCain for President.)

President Bush's performance ratings are, understandably, directly linked to the Iraq War. Unfortunately for the President and the nation, virtually nothing has gone as hoped or planned since the fall of Baghdad in 2003.  As a matter of political analysis, the President's performance ratings will not improve until US casualties are reduced dramatically and there is demonstrable political progress on the ground in Iraq.

Ultimately, history will judge the wisdom of US intervention in Iraq and, for that judgment, it is still much too early.
