Response by Rick Thigpen

A Republican President with disturbingly poor job performance numbers provides the Democrat-friendly backdrop as the curtain rises on the next national election cycle.  New Jersey looks to be Clinton country again.  However, the star power of Barack Obama is not to be ignored.

No Republican Presidential Nominee has won New Jersey since Bush Sr., in '88.  Especially with President Bush's baggage to carry, navigating what are already perilous political waters in New Jersey will be too much for any Republican nominee in 2008.
