Response by Rick Thigpen

The good news for Fred Madden is that he will have sufficient resources to aggressively tackle the daunting and politically complex challenge he faces to win this election.   As of yet, 45% of the voters register no opinion of this political newcomer, which accounts for a significant amount of the lead that long time Assemblyman George Geist currently holds.  Courtesy of television, nearly everyone will soon know who Fred Madden is.  If Fred Madden can build up support among independents as he becomes better known by the electorate, he will be facing one last hurdle to victory, solidifying his support among Democrats which currently stands at only 52%.

Can the former Lt. Colonel in the State Police quickly become the favorite of 4th district Democrats, nearly 25% of whom are either African-American or Latino?  Candidate Madden with the help of the formidable Camden County Democratic Party has his work cut out for him.
