The governor continues to show surprising resiliency in the face of adversity. Republican political strategy seems to be to hope Chris Christie and bad news will do their work for them. But the Governor is proving he’s a tougher nut to crack than expected. Beset by real concerns, political and otherwise, it’s still Jim McGreevey the voters identify as the politician most in touch with their average concerns. While his numbers are not strong, he continues to show progress even in the most difficult times. While “new person” can beat him handily, no Republican politician is yet showing the stuff to match that feat. As the going gets tougher, Jim McGreevey is still going.
