Republican Response

The race for governor is far from over. Senator Corzine has spent over $6 million since the primary and has been unable to break out of the mid-40’s on the ballot test. As the candidate of the party in power, Senator Corzine must also be concerned with the “right track-wrong track” number which is trending in the wrong direction. In addition, Senator Corzine’s favorability rating has taken an 11 point hit, suggesting that some of the bad news from this summer has taken root with the public.

Mr. Forester, on the other hand, must make his move now. To win in November, Mr. Forrester must convince voters he can do better a job than Senator Corzine in lowering property taxes, something, to date, he has failed to do. If Mr. Forrester focuses his paid message on this issue, this race will tighten even more.

Acting Governor Codey’s numbers are quite impressive. Unfortunately for Democrats, Mr. Codey is not on the ballot this November and, as such, his performance in office will have no impact on election day.
