Although John Kerry appears to have broken ahead of George Bush, New Jersey unexpectedly remains in play. At the beginning of the campaign, New Jersey was not seen as a potential battleground state. The narrowness and recency of John Kerry’s lead suggests that both parties will have to continue to pay attention to New Jersey.
