Response by Rick Thigpen

It is past time for the Kerry campaign to change the way it does business. John Kerry is an attractive alternative candidate, and a war hero, and will clearly bring much needed change to the White House.

George Bush misled Americans into a war with Iraq and has presided over a near disasterous occupation. He is the first president since Herbert Hoover to lose jobs during his term and in the past four years median household income has fallen. He has turned record budget surpluses into record budget deficits and has brought the practice of pay-to-play into the White House with the Halliburton Corporation.

Yet, as the poll shows, even Democrats think George Bush is going to win right now. The Kerry campaign has so far failed to inspire Democrats and failed to connect with the American people. All John Kerry has to do is make himself an attractive alternative to the president and the President’s own job performance will drag him down.

Americans will only settle for George Bush and continuing down the wrong track if they feel there is not a viable alternative.
