Response by Rick Thigpen

The race for Governor continues to be dominated by Senator Corzine. While Forrester is admittedly showing some signs of life, he remains comfortably in second place. He has however, finally convinced a majority of Republicans that he can win this race.

Corzine is quietly assembling a formidable democratic electoral coalition, one that starts with support from women and includes overwhelming support from non-white voters. Forrester's only real chance to win this race depends on his ability to persuade voters that he is their man to fix property taxes. While Forrester has made some progress here, he faces in Corzine a seasoned pro on financial matters. For Forrester to win, he will have to beat Corzine at his own game, by convincing the voters he can better solve the state's financial challenges.
